Drilling & Registering an Exempt Water Well in Lampasas County
Exempt Well Registration / Intent to Drill Instructions:

1. Exempt well must be drilled, completed or equipped so that the well is incapable of production of more than 25, 000 gallons per day (17.36 gallons per minute) and be used solely for domestic use or providing water for livestock or poultry.
2. Download or request in writing the Well Registration form ​(download pdf below).
3. Complete the Registration entirely.
4. You may submit the Well Registration form and applicable fee of $500 by mail to:  Saratoga UWCD, PO Box 168, Lampasas, Texas 76550 or pay through the PayPal link below on this page and/or email the completed form to the email address below.
5. A District Well Registration Number and Notice to Proceed will be issued by SUWCD not later than 10 business days after receipt of an administratively complete Well Registration and the applicable $500 fee.
6. Non-Exempt Commercial or Business wells must be permitted by The Board of Directors of the Saratoga UWCD.  Please call the General Manager before contracting for a Non-Exempt well.​
7. ​When the well is completed, the property owner is responsible for submission of a State approved and numbered "Drillers Log" to the Saratoga UWCD.

After January 1, 2021, failure to pay the required fees can result in denial to drill, any applicable fines, a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation against the well driller for failure to notify the District, or other administrative action to be filed in the appropriate district court.
